Madchild Trapped Inside In New Music Video For “Quarantine”

While the whole world is in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, Madchild has stayed on the grind, recording the new Aliby produced track and dropping a music video for “Quarantine” featuring Hooper Turnt Sanger. The video can be seen online here: https://youtu.be/I4krFPRbBEE
and was directed by Anthony La Rose Films via Skype and shot on a Samsung S10 by Madchild to ensure he was following proper social distancing practices. The video is a comical look at how Madchild is dealing with being stuck in quarantine, as he’s trapped inside with his thoughts, broke up with his girlfriend, and trying to distract himself with social media and binge-watching TV series.

“I realize that everyone is going a little bit crazy during this quarantine, so it inspired me to write a song poking fun at myself and hopefully it brings a smile to others during this crazy time of uncertainty. We’re all just adjusting to the new normal and musicians have been particularly hit hard as we make our living touring, but I feel like people need music now more than ever, so it was important to me to be creative during this time,” commented Madchild. “I thought long and hard about how I could make a video for this track and still use safe social distancing practices while filming. I ended up shooting this inside my house using a cellphone and I was able to Skype back-and-forth with the director. Anthony La Rose did a phenomenal job adjusting to the situation and it turned out to be a great video.”

“Quarantine” is the follow-up to his breakout single “Lemons”, which stacked up 600,000 views faster than any other Madchild video. The track is the lead single on Madchild’s upcoming new solo album “Mad World”, which is available for pre-order online at www.MadchildOMG.com

Madchild started the year with a bang, teaming up with Tom MacDonald to release the joint album “Killing The Neighbors”. The album launched with a series of music videos that have gone viral and hit the Youtube trending page. The videos for “White Trash”, “Sober”, “Bad News” and “D.R.U.G”, have combined for over 9 million views and sparked hundreds of thousands of comments online.

Madchild is a four-time Juno Award-winning rapper with over 100 million views on Youtube. His debut solo album “Dope Sick” was recently certified Gold by Music Canada for sales and debuted at #3 spot on the Canadian Billboard Top 200. “Dope Sick” went on to be nominated for a Juno Award in the category of “Recording of the Year,” as well as Sirius XFM and Canadian Independent Music Award nominations.
