Five Reasons Tech N9ne’s “Special Effects” Will Be a Classic

Info from: Artist direct

There’s no doubt about it. Tech N9ne is cooking up a classic with Special Effects. Out May 5, all the indicators are that this will be not only Tech’s best yet, but one of the best of the year. He’s laying the ground work for quite the landmark.

Since we’re excited about the impending release of Special Effects and think you should be too, ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino compiled 5 reasons the album will be a classic in this exclusive feature.

5. First of all, Tech is on fire right now. Special Effects arrives following the bone-crushing and genre-breaking EP, Therapy, and his 2013 masterpiece Something Else as well as the blistering collaboration album, Strangeulation. To say that Kansas City’s finest is enjoying a “creative renaissance” would be a total understatement. The “Age of Tech” has really only just begun.

4. Tech will be out crushing venues on tour throughout the Spring in support of the album. He’s armed with a host of new music and his stage show only continues getting bigger and better, especially as he further infiltrates the rock world with appearances at the likes of Rock on the Range.

3. Tech still knows how to party. He recently uncovered “Hood Go Crazy” [feat. 2 Chainz & B.o.B], and it feels like it could be one of his biggest bangers ever. It’s on par of “Caribou Lou” and “So Dope (They Wanna) in terms of bouncy brilliance, but it showcases his evolution at the same time.

2. Tech gets deep. When Tech opens up, it’s unlike any other MC in the game. He can paint poignant pictures on par with Nas and 2Pac, and that’s real talk. Nobody taps into pain like he does, and he’s already unleashing and exorcising those demons on tape with the fiery “Aw Yeah? (interVENTion)” and “Dyin’ Flyin’.” Keep in mind this is only the beginning to. As always, Special Effects will be a journey…

1 Tech fucking rules! He’s one of the greatest rappers ever—’nuff said. Get ready.
